It is facing increasingly pressing patient demands for better aesthetics, improved biological compatibility (no more toxicity, allergy, corrosion…) and lasting mechanical properties. Specifications for materials are getting tougher. The current “all-ceramic” crowns in Zirconia are far better than traditional metal-ceramic crowns. No metal used in these new crowns. No corrosion, and thus no tattooing of the gums due to metal ions release. Tissues remain healthy since they are not attacked any more.
